Army, Navy, and Air Force March On Lacrosse Field; Marine Gripes

The College's Army, Navy, and Air Force units paraded together for the first time since unification yesterday.

Harvard's 236 Navy Reserve students, 111 Air Force students 38 Field Artillery students, and a stray cocker spaniel joined the close order drill on the Lacrosse Field near the Business School.

While a military band played brassy jazz, Provost Buck and visiting official-dom inspected the drawn-up forces and a Marine complained to bystanders that "the dumb Army is too far over. They're crowding the Navy battalion."

Then the band switched to a waltz and an adjutant announced the award of six medals. Dignitaries presented them to Cadet Lt. Col. Charles R. Helloer '50, Cadet Master/Sgt.: Albert, R. Everett, Jr. '49, Cadet Captain James O'Neil '50, Cadet Lee. D. Cunningham '51, Cadet John J. shes, Jr. '52, and L.T. Com. Thomas C. Simons '50.
