Fingold to Speak on Local Crime Tonight

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

George F. Fingold, former State Assistant Attorney General, will speak at 7:30 tonight, in the Lamont Forum Room on "Crime and Politics in Massachusetts." The Young Republican Club and the Republician Open Forum will sponsor the talk jointly.

Fingold recently testified before a Senate sub-committee concerning nationwide crime syndicates.

Tonight he will discuss local gambling and its relation to the nationwide organization. He will also contend that local crime could not function in Massachusetts unless local police tacitly allowed bookies to flourish.

The Boston Traveler commented in July of 1948 that "George Fingold, Assistant Attorney-General who headed the Revere scandal probe, merits commendation for public service. The racket-buster might be called a born lawyer."

"Fingold's story is one of hard work and opportunities grasped by the horns. He is an official of integrity of whom the law-abiding citizens of this Commonwealth may be proud."
