The freshman baseball team will be up against another fast-ball pitcher today when it faces Dick Bogdan of the Holy Cross freshmen on Soldiers Field today at 3:45 p.m. Yardling coach Dolph Samborski will send either Fred Rhinelander or Steve Stamatopulos against the Purple.
Bogdan, the right-handed ace of the Crusaders, specializes in speed, tempered with good control. He fanned 14 in the Purple's 8 to 2 win over Brown.
That victory is the only basis for comparing the Crimson and the Crusaders, since Brown is the only common opponent. The Yardlings whipped the Bruins, 8 to 5, earlier this season.
Holy Cross coach Hop Riopel will probably start two basketball stars in the infield. Earle Markey is at second, while six-foot-six Jim Kielly covers first.
