B-School Retains Gratis Electricity

The Business School will not charge its students for the electrical appliances in their rooms, Associate Dean Stanley F. Teele announced last night.

Plans were announced two weeks ago by the University to charge students who had heavy-current appliances in their rooms. The money raised would cover inspection costs and would be used to improve poor wiring in the dorms of each school.

The Business School will instead use part of a $500,000 gift from the George F. Baker Foundation to improve its dorm wiring. Dean Teele reported that the small charges other parts of the University will make to cover inspection costs will be absorbed at the Business School to avoid having a nuisance fee.

The Business School has been operating under a plan of modernizing one dormtory a year.
