Poskanzer Speaks on University Education

Decentralized education and a strengthening of the House system were two policies David C. Poskanzer '50 advocated in a discussion of Harvard education in the Phillips Brooks House last night.

Poskanzer traced the evolution of educational policy in the University from the regulated curriculum of the 18th century through the complete elective system of President Eliot in the nineties. He described General Education as a move back to the old idea of required courses.
