By the light of stars and paper lanterns, the Dramatic Club will open a four-day run of the Spanish comedy, "The Shoemaker's Prodigious Wife," at 8:30 p.m. tonight in the new outdoor theatre behind the Hygiene Building.
The entrance and box office are on Holyoke Street. Inside, in Big Tree Court, is the stage and room for 180 people. The courtyard with its high brick walls has been dressed for the occasion to give people a mood of fiesta. The floor will be white gravel.
Roving-Mike Announced
WHRB will have a roving-mike announcer on hand for the ten minutes before curtain time. He will interview the opening night crowd and describe the spectacle. The program will be recorded and played to radio listeners at 10:50 p.m.
Sherman H. Hawkins '51 takes the part of the shoemaker who is driven from home by his naggin wife (Joanna Brown '52). Hawkins is also a co-director of the play with Robert C. Seaver '50.
Also in the cast are Seaver, Roger L. Butler '51, Peter S. Capernos '52, Richard T. Heffron '52, and William J. Burns '53.
