Alonso, Crone to Take New Posts

Professor Amado Alonso has been appointed Smith Professor of the French and Spanish Language, Provest Buck announced last night. The appointment of Dr. Neil L. Crone, Physician to the Business School, as professor of Business Administration at the Business School was also announced last night by Dean David.

Amade has been professor of Romance Language since 1947. He will assume his new post, hold in the past by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and James Russell Lowell, on September 1. He succeeds Jean-Joseph Seznee, who has accepted a position at Oxford, England.

Dean David said that Crone's appointment was probably the first given a practising physician as a professor of business administration.
