Massachusetts justice caught up again Saturday with the panhandling "Irishman" who mulcted five College students out of $8 last week in the Yard.
Lawrence O. Harding, who had claimed he was "a poor merchant seaman" robbed of all he had in the world, was sentenced to a year's probation by Judge Stone of the East Cambridge Court for "panhandling."
James C. Borra '53, Wayland W. Bowser '53, Harry K. Ziel '53, Richard Craven '52, and Frank B. Ensign, Jr. '52 were the students taken in by Harding. The first three appeared in court, were reimbursed for the money lost, and were also paid $3 apiece for being witnesses.
