Pinafore' Lovers' Confusion Ends Happily

"Stop, stop, she loves you," sings the chorus in last night's Winthrop House production of Gilbert and Sullivan's "H.M.S Pinafore."

JOHN C. HUTCHINSON '50' as Ralph Rackstraw, has lifted a pistol to his head. He's going to shoot himself because he loves Josephine, played by YOLANDA LYONS, but thinks she doesn't love him.

GEORGE F. SKINNER '50, the Boat walins Mate, stands to the left, giving Rackstraw the truth: that Josephine really does love him. Between the Boatswaln's Mate and the chorus, Rackstraw is persuaded to lay down his pistol, and the operetta can continue on to his eventual happy ending.

"Pinafore" salls twice from the Winthrop House Junior Common Room today. The evening performance is completely sold out, but seats are still available for the matinee, which begins at 2:15 p.m.

This is the second of the annual Winthrop House presentations of Gillertt and Sullivan works.
