One Harvard graphic works of art, 18 oil paintings, and five oil colors from a representative exhibition of the Norwegian painter Edward Munch will go on display at Fogg Museum for a month starting Wednesday, April 19.
Much of Munch's work has been termed violent and dramatic. Before moving to Germany in 1900 he lived in Paris, where he was exposed to the influence of Van Gogh and Gauguin.
He owned most of his works and left them to Norwegian galleries when he died during the last war, Expect for a few pieces from private collectors, most of the exhibition is loaned from the city of Oslo, the national gallery, and the Gallery of painting at Bergen.
