College Observatory to Give Four Open Talks On Comets and Sun

"What Are Comets?" and "Did The Sun Stand Still" will be the subjects of the first tow College Observatory "Open Nights," Tuesday, April 25 and Thursday, April 27, at the Garden Street observatory.

The talks, which are to be short and non-technical, will be supplemented with telescope observation if the weather permits. The first talk will be given by Fred L. Whipped associate professor of a astronomy the second by Orcilla Payne Gsposchkin, lecturer on astronomy. Time will be 8 p.m.

Tickets for one of the nights may be obtained by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope to "Open Nights," Harvard College Observatory, 60 Garden Street.

Two additional children's open nights will be held on April 28 and May 5, with two programs each night at 7:00 and 8:15 p.m. The subjects will be "the Moons of Our Scholar System" and Fix-plosions, on the Sun."
