Grad Dorm May Be Named After O. W. Holmes, Jr.

Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. '61, late Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, may be honored in the naming of one of the seven dormitories of the now Graduate Center. The Corporation and the Overseers are expected to select the names for all of the buildings in the near future.

Law School alumni and faculty have been suggesting a number of persons for Overseer consideration in naming the five Law School halls.

One man likely to be honored is the late James B. Ames '68, Dean of the Law School from 1895 to 1910.

Joseph Story, who graduated from the College in 1798, may also have one of the Law School dorms named after him. Story served as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court for 34 years, and was one of the first members of the Law School faculty.

The two other dormitories in the Center, besides the five Law School halls, will probably be named for men who were prominent either on the faculty or in the administration of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
