Kirkland Leader in Straus Race; Matthews North Paces Freshmen

With the fall and winter seasons completed, Kirkland House with 859 points holds first place in the Straus Trophy competition by 21 1-2 points over second place Lowell. Adams is third, 45 points behind the Bellboys.

In third place after the fall season, the Deacons relied on championship basketball, fencing, and volleyball teams to take them to the top during the winter.

Eliot, pace setters during the fall, dropped down to fourth place, despite winning seasons in squash and hockey. Leverett also faltered during the winter, sliding from second place to fifth.

Matthews North Leads

In Yard competition, star-filled Matthews North threatens to run away from the rest of the 17 team league. With first-place teams in boxing and fencing, Matthews North has a lead of 42 1-2 points over second place Straus North which has been kept in the race by cross country and squash championships.
