Three Army, Navy, and Air Force officers urged undergraduates to take advantage of student and reserve training programs at a discussion of military positions in Lowell House, last night. It was the last career conference of the year.
Colonel Charles P. Summerall, professor of Military Science and Tactics, stated that the ROTC program here prepares officers for technical work in the army.
The Air Force's student and reserve training programs have openings for technicians and aviators, said Colonel George S. Brown, Assistant Deputy for Operations at Mitchell Field in New York. An air-ROTC has been operating here since immediately after the war.
Although practically no places are open now for upperclassmen in the NROTC, opportunities in the naval reserve are almost unlimited, said Lieutenant Commander William Hogan, of the Boston Office of Officer Procurement. Hogan added that the expanding naval air program needs men.
