Regatta Site Changed

Marietta, Ohio, will be this year's site for the traditional Poughkeepsie Regatta, the stewards of the American Intercollegiate Rowing Association announced yesterday.

The advantages of the location on the Ohio River include a no-current race course 1400 feet wide and 3 miles long. For the spectators, it has an observation train and two overlooking highways.

Only twice before, in 1898 and 1920, has the regatta taken place off the traditional Hudson River Course.
