Well, sir, Eliot House is safe, anyway. Several years ago they put up a row of three-foot metal posts in front of Winthrop House where Mill Street meets Holyoke. No Russian tank will reach Eliot from the East without quite a struggle.
Sure, the man who winds up in front of Winthrop when he's headed for Eliot may have a little trouble. He can't turn right so he has to turn left down Mill Street and go for two blocks until he comes to Plympton Street and then turn left and go two blocks until he hits Mount Auburn and then turn again and go a couple of blocks until Holyoke Street and then turn left again and go a block or so until he comes to South Street and then turn right and go straight ahead until he gets to Dunster Street and then turn left and follow it down to the end. About a half mile in all.
But it's worth it, all the same. Nothing's bad enough for them Russians.
