Vera Takes Intercollegiate Fail Titles Fencers Place 7th

Joe Vera won the Intercollegiate Fells Championship Saturday night in New York, while the varsity fencers finished seventh out of 12 with 53 1-2 points in the Intercollegiate Fencing Association meet. NYU was first with 13-1-2 points, nosing out Navy by one point.

Vera won all of his five matches in the finals for the foils title after qualifying with nine victories out of 12 matches in the team competition. Joe Overholser placed fifth out of six in the finals for the epee championship.

The fencers, as a team, tied for sixth with Columbia and Pennsylvania in the foil competition and were tied for tenth with Princeton in the saber.
