Trib Says College Chief Red Target

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Chicago Tribune reporter Eugene Griffin continued his current series on "Harvard and its connections with left wingers" Thursday with a story headlined "Harvard Men Help to Shape U. S. Policies."

The only man mentioned in Griffin's latest article is Alger Hiss. "Hiss came from the Harvard Law School," Griffin declared. "So did an unusual percentage of other men accused of Communist espionage while in the service of America."

Griffin named no further names but instead stated, "Because so many of its graduates reach positions of great trust and power in the government. Harvard is the target of Communist infiltration schemes, among both faculty and students."

The Tribune devoted the body of its article to a general discussion of methods of alleged Communist infiltration into the country's educational system as a whole.
