Crimson Scores Five Falls in 3-1-0 Rout, Gains Third Win

By Peter D. Taud

The College's finest group of wrestlers is recent years swept all eight bouts from Boston University in the Block house last night and won, 34 to 0. It was Harvard's third straight victory.

The Crimson started off with three decisions wound up with five consecutive three of them coming within a minute and a half.

Everyone looked good, although some men. Dave Smith for instance, came up against comparatively inexperienced opponents. Smith, spotting George Dake almost 20 pounds, took his man by surprise and registered a quick pin.

BU's most capable wrestler was Dick Mycroon. The same quickness which Smith exhibited enabled Al Sawyer to come out from underneath and pin Myerson 40 seconds before the end of their match.

Joe Kozol, Dave Shapire, and Bob Abboud had to be satisfied with decisions. Kozol beat BU's husky captain, Shapiro scored several near falls, Abboud came from behind and put on a fine show in winning.

Harvard experienced little difficulty in the higher weights. Tom Connors, returning to action after a knee injury, pinned early in the third period; Bob Claflin, who faced a fairly good man, and Will Davis, in his first intercollegiate wrestling performance, gained first period falls.

George Rabe, Army Wrestling captain last year, was among the spectators, dictating notes to a feminine companion. He should have some interesting things to tell his West Point friends, whom Harvard meets Saturday.

The summaries:
