Tryouts for the chorus of the Lowell House Musical Society's opera, "Dido and Aeneas" will take place in the Lowell House Tower Room at 8 p.m. tonight, Albert Haman '50, president, announced last night.

The opera, composed by Henry Purcell in 1689 is familiar to Music 1 students as an example of "antique English opera." The Lowell House presentation will take place March 24 and 25 in the House dining hall.

Lead roles for the opera include Adele Milhender from the Longy School of Music who will sing Dido, Katherine Griffith, a graduate student in music at Radcliffe singing Belinda, James Perrin '50 who will sing Aeneas, and Wilfred Pickles '50 playing a sailor. Malcolm Holmes '28 will conduct the undergraduate orchestra.
