Radcliffe Favors Travel Costs Cut

Radcliffe Council yesterday voted to support a General Court of Massachusetts bill to cut student transportation rates in half, on the recommendation of the Northern New England Regional Council of the National Student Association.

NSA is at present attempting to bring the bill, No. 646, back to the floor of the state legislature. It was tabled for a year last term. Much of the opposition came from the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad, whose rates the bill would have affected.

Although aimed primarily at lowering prices in local traffic for all school and college students in the state, the bill included out of state transportation from Massachusetts. College student councils have been requested by NSA to countersign the recommendation.
