Coach Hal Ulen's prediction of a close meet proved a little pessimistie, as the varsity swimming team romped over Princeton, 50 to 25, in the last home meet of the year Saturday night.
The win was the swimmers' fifth straight. With only Dartmouth and Yale left, the record shows seven wins and and a loss to Army.
The freshman team easily beat a good Exeter squad in the preliminary, 42 to 33.
Captain Joe Fox and Bob Berke starred for the varsity. Between them they took first places in all the freestyle events, Berke taking the 220 and 440-yard events, and Fox winning the 50- and 100-yard sprints as well as anchoring the winning 400-yard freestyle relay quartet.
Tiger Ace Wins
Sophomore Bob Brawner (who set the 400-meter and 440-yard world records three weeks ago) coasted to five points in the 220-yard breaststroke; and by covering the middle 100 yards in one minute he gave the Tigers the 300-yard medley relay in an extraordinary 2:58.4.
Stars for the Yardlings were Ken Emerson, who set a new freshman record of of 1:07.2 in the 100-yard breaststroke, and Ron Huebsch, who took the 50-yard freestyle in 25 seconds.
