NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Dean George Packer Berry of the Medical School urged yesterday immediate federal financial aid for medical schools.

Dr. Berry said that medical schools were "very sick" financially. While he emphasized urgent need of federal aid, he added. "With an adequate core of its own money a school can successfully resist unwarranted political interference or government control."

Dr. Berry spoke at a Founder's Day ceremony at Union College in New York, where he received an honorary degree of doctor of science.
