Rene Peroy's varsity fencing team lost a 16 1/2 to 10 1/2 decision to Cornell at Ithaca Saturday while at the same time the freshmen dropped their match with Andover, 12-6, in the Indoor Athletic Building.

Unusual in the varsity event were the double touches scored in the epee matches while using an electric epee timed for one twenty-fifth of a second. Two of these were scored by Morton in obtaining a draw.

The varsity summary:

Foils: Vera won 2, lost 1; Frankmann 2-1; Sollee 0-3. Saber; Carter 3-0; Gay 1-2, Levine 0-3. Epee Overholser 2-1, Morton 1/2-2 1/2, Smith 0-3.
