Squash Varsity Faces McGill In First Major Match Today

The varsity squash team plays its first intercollegiate match of the season against McGill at 3:30 p.m. today in Hemenway Gymnasium. McGill has already played one match, defeating Dartmouth, 5 to 2.

The Crimson lineup, in order of ranking, will be Captain Honry Foster, Joo Clark, Hugh Nawn, Charlie Ufford, Dave Watts, Jim Bacon, and Muggy Mugaseth.

In yesterday's matches, the varsity C team defeated the University Club, 4 to 1, on the loser's courts.

Elliott (H) defeated Boddorff, 15-12, 17-14, 4-15, 4-15, 17-15; Harding (H) defeated Scheft, 15-10, 15-13, 15-11; Trinchteri defeated Dick, 11-15, 15-10, 15-12, 14-17, 15-12; Johnson (H) defeated Wright, 15-12, 13-15, 15-13, 15-13; Conlon (UC) defeated Root, 15-16, 4-15, 15-12, 15-13, 15-11.

The freshman C team also won yesterday, downing the Union Boat club "Blues," 4 to 1.

Brownell (H) defeated Plakham, 15-10, 16-13, 15-9; Rose (H) defeated Rice, 15-8, 6-15, 15-10, 15-7; Tomes (H) defeated Ahern, 15-7, 15-5, 15-2; White (H) defeated Watson, 15-9, 16-18, 10-15, 15-10, 18-17; Porter (UBC) defeated Ward, 9-15, 18-17, 15-12, 16-18, 18-16.
