Massachusetts beat a straus South team, 21 to 17, last night to take the lead in the National League of freshman intramural basketball. Matthews North got the lead in the American League after defeating Weld South, 23 to 8.

In the National League, Weld North won over Wigglesworth West, 23 to 15. Thayer North defeated Grays, 17 to 8. Matthews South trounced Hollis, 34 to 12.

The American League games saw Thayer South beat Thayer Middle, 18 to 11, Holworthy edge Wigglesworth East, 16 to 13, and Stoughton beat Lionel, 22 to 17.
