In a close match, the freshman "D" squash team lost to the Milton Hoosic Club, 3-2, at Milton yesterday afternoon.
The Yardlings got off to a fast start in the first match, when Steve White (H) defeated John Jeffries 18-6, 15-10, 15-10. Then Dave Millet (M) defeated Paul Garrigue 11-15, 18-13, 15-13, 15-9. John Seldon (M) defeated John Rauk 15-8, 7-15, 15-12, 16-15. The '54 squad still had a chance when Matt Reynolds (H) defeated Ed Fay 16-15, 15-10, 15-8. But, in the last set, Dave Jeffries (M) defeated Ham Forster 11-15, 15-12, 15-9, 9-15, 15-10, to win the match.
The freshman "D" team plays again today, against Middlesex here.
