Increase Expected in Student Xmas Travel

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Travel agencies and railways expect an unusually large number of students in this area to go home for the holidays, according to a survey made yesterday.

"In previous years," commented the University Travel Agency, "we sold a lot of airline tickets to Europe, the Middle East, and South America. This year, however, the only out-of-the-country trips that have been planned through here are 12 to Havana."

Allens Stay Here

Cook Travel Bureau, in Boston, found that many foreign students, afraid they might not be able to get back into the country, once home, are spending Christmas with friends in the United States. Some will stay at the University.

Officials at South Station said that pullman cars have ben reserved for almost a month. Many travellers wanted coach reservations, which railroad companies do not give.

The general opinion, expressed by the Ames Travel Company, is that students count on being drafted soon, and want to spend as much time as possible with their families.
