William H. Aaron and Joshua M. Levin were elected chairman and treasurer respectively at the first meeting of the Freshman Smoker Committee yesterday.
During the course of its meeting, the committee unanimously approved the appointment of Daniel J. Collins, Union Committee representative, as secretary, and named six sub-committee chairmen:
Martin K. King and Lennard B. Weingarten, entertainment; H. Lester Medlinsky and Carmel J. Cohen, publicity; Bruce D. Phillips, refreshments; and Dirck H. Post, staging committee.
The Committee has no definite plans yet for the Smoker which is scheduled for late February or March, but they plan plenty of food and a celebrity if possible--though they are making no promises.
This year's Smoker Committee election campaign was generally conceded to be the most conservatively fought in late years.
