Reported high winds may handicap the varsity sailing team at M.I.T. in the Schell Trophy Race at 12:30 p.m. today and at 9 a.m. tomorrow.
Frank Scully will captain the A boat with John Gardner as crew. The B boat will be skippered by Charlie McElroy with Jim Nathanson as crew.
Twelve teams will compete in the race, including Brown, Yale, and Dartmouth from the Ivy League. McGill is travelling from Canada to participate.
The sailing team qualified for the race by winning the Jack Wood Trophy at New London last Weekend. Ceast Guard Academy trailed the varsity by only three points in the meet and is expected to give the sailors a hard battle.
The Schell Trophy climaxes the current New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association events. Michigan, George Washington, and Cornell will be challenging the New England teams.
