Eliot-Whitman, Briggs, Cabot Win in Hockey

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A combined Eliot-Whitman team topped a strong but shorthanded. Moors Hall squad, 1 to 0, in yesterday's intramural field hockey match at the Radcliffe quadrangle. Briggs Hall then rolled up three points against a scoreless commuters' team, while Cabot outscored Bernard and Bertram, 4 to 2.

Moors held out until the last minutes of the second half, when Linette Peter and Lydia Hurd quit the field because of injuries, leaving the squad with only two halfbacks, one fullback, and a goalie to ward off a determined Eliot and Whitman team.

High scorers for their teams were Mary Brandt, who shot both of Bertram's goals, and Ann Worthington, who flicked the ball past a firm back line for two of Cabot's four points.

Final play-offs of the Quadrangle hockey intramurals are scheduled for Monday.
