Football Team Works 'Midst Snow and Rain

Bitter cold and snow flurries did not prevent Lloyd Jordan from scrimmaging his varsity eleven outside for 35 minutes yesterday in a closed practice session.

Jordan said after practice that he was "quite pleased" with a workout in which the varsity polished offensive plays against the scrubs and scrimmaged on defense against the jayvees. The coach also remarked that wingbacks Jerry Blitz and Dave Warden ran well on the single wing plays.

Three Still Out

Defensive end Stan Britton, tackle Bob Stargel, and guard Dick Heidtmann were unable to scrimmage because of injuries, although all three were given light workouts. Jordan is still awaiting final medical reports on these three men.

Jordan noted that it would be difficult to set defenses against the Yale attack because the Elis "were equally good in the air and on the ground." The coach added, however, that "maybe now Yale will find it just as difficult to prepare defenses for us."

Commenting on the raw weather, Jordan said "we had to get this kind of weather sometime because we might run up against it Saturday. But if it's like this tomorrow we'll do half our work in Briggs Cage."

The varsity will scrimmage again this afternoon with the stress being put on offensive patterns.
