A burglary suspect was captured early yesterday morning in Conant Hall by Peter H. Nash 3G, a student in the School of Regional Planning.
The suspect, Joseph McHugh, slipped into Nash's suite at 2 a.m., but the light-sleeping student heard him trying the door. Leaping out of bed, Nash attacked McHugh as he entered, and eventually forced him into the community bathroom. Then Nash got help from other students.
According to Nash's report, there is reason to suspect that McHugh is the same person who successfully raided his Conant room on September 18, when a wallet and watch were taken. At that time a duplicate key was also stolen.
The accused has a police record and is currently being held in $5,000 bail. He will appear before the December Grand Jury.
