Cambridge police, still unsure of the cause of Jeremiah Brickman's death, started an investigation to determine his whereabouts during the day and night he died, according to Detective Sergeant James F. Murphy.

Sergeant Murphy said that the Assistant Medical Examiner, Dr. John A. Luengo, submitted an autopsy report, indicating that he was uncertain about the cause of death.

The second year Law student died Saturday at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital from a fractured skull and sub-dural hemorrhage supposedly received last Thursday.

The Medical Examiner asked the Cambridge police and the District Attorney to investigate the circumstances of the death. "Since certain types of injuries come from a fall and others from a blow, the Medical Examiner wants to corroborate his findings in the autopsy. Discovery of Brickman's activities Thursday will do this," Murphy said.

The Medical Examiner, after receiving a police report, is required by law to inform the court of his findings.

Police stated that it will probably be a week before this report is completed.
