No Cambridge Reds Register With City

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Cambridge Communists are either non-existent or have been giving police the cold shoulder for the last five weeks. So far, not one has turned up at headquarters to comply with Councillor John D. Lynch's bill ordering all local Communists to register with the chief of police.

Councillor Joseph A. DeGuglielme '29 asked Police Chief John R. King two weeks ago how many Communists complied with this law. King replied yesterday, "No Communists have registered with me."

In a legal opinion several weeks ago, City Solicitor John A. Day said that he thought the law unconstitutional, since "there is no law under which the Chief of Police can force a Communist to register."
