In its first game of the season, the Varsity A squash team lost to the Harvard Club of Boston, 4 to 1, yesterday afternoon on the Club's courts.

Coach Jack Barnaby was encouraged by the close scores in all the games, and said that, with more practice and full strength, the Crimson should win the Metropolitan League championship.

There are nine more games in the A squad's schedule, including a rematch with the Harvard Club on January 2.

The B team opens its 14-game season this afternoon when it meets the University Club in Boston.
