Soccer Team Takes On MIT Today

Crimson booters will travel downstream this afternoon to play an improved M.I.T. team behind the soap factory.

Harvard whitewashed the Engineers, 9 to 0, in last year's game, but the outlook this year is not quite so bright. The Engineers are undefeated in their last four games, while the Crimson has dropped four of its last five. Harvard now stands only one place above M.I.T., halfway down in the New England league standings.

Coach Bruce Munro will make three lineup changes from the state that started against Princeton. Sophomore Berk Johnson will start at right wing, replacing Ben Goldstein, who has a sprained ankle. Johnson and Latai Berger had split the right outside duties against Princeton Saturday.

Harshman in Goal

Another sophomore, Dana Getchell, will start at left inside in place of Jim Johnson. Getchell started the season as a halfback, but Munro shifted him to left inside for the Amherst game.

Senior Don Harshman, veteran of three year's varsity experience, will take over the net-minding duties from Dick Craven, Harshman made four difficult last-period saves against Princeton Saturday.

Captain Ted Wolf, Vern Drehmel, and All-American Charlie Weiss again will fill the left wing, center forward, and right inside positions. Left to right, Pants Pantalconi, Ben Florin, and Bob Harding will make up the halfback line while Humph Doermann and Charlie Ufford fill the fullback slots.

Freshmen Play Tufts Here

The freshman soccer squad meets a weak Tufts team at 3:30 p.m. today on the Business School Field. The Crimson eleven takes the field with four wins, two losses, and four ties to its credit.

Coach Poley Guyda has been stressing shooting during this week's practice, since the team has made only one score in its last three games.

Juan Vollenweider and Dick Armstrong, unable to play last week against Medford High because of hour exams, will be included in the lineup this afternoon. Steve Joyce, who injured his right arm early in the season, played last Friday and will participate today.

Both varsity and freshman soccer squads have two remaining games this season, Brown Saturday and Yale the following Friday.
