Only two out of 457 Wellesley freshmen are attending the college of their choice because of its proximity to Harvard, a survey among Wellesley lasses has revealed.

The survey, bused on a questionnaire, showed that 42 percent of the Class of 1954 felt Wellesley's academic standing was their chief motive. Prestige was the next most popular lure and 16 percent of the first year girls were influenced by their parents, alumnae relatives, or friends. Others mentioned special courses or location as reasons for coming.
