$100,000 Given to Radcliffe Library

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Radcliffe received $100,000 from an anonymous source, President Jordan announced yesterday.

The surprise grant is the largest given to the college since John Farwell Moors '88 gave the college its new dormitory--Moors Hall--two years ago.

Half of the gift will go to complete the renovations started on the Annex library this summer, which remained incomplete through lack of the necessary funds. The new grant will be used for insulating, soundproofing, decorating and refurnishing the library.

The income from the remaining $50,000 will buy books for the reconditioned library. An expanded General Education program has greatly increased the annual book budget, Jordan pointed out.
