Hollywood Trains Lenses on Local Scene Once Again

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Hollywood invaded the local scene briefly for the second time within a year last week as Paramount Studio cameramen, mounted in the back of a pick-up truck, cruised up and down Memorial Drive near the Houses, shooting background material for Bing Crosby's new picture, "Here Comes the Groom."

Although the setting of the film is in and around Boston, neither the actors nor director Frank Capra made the trip East. A crew of about ten, supervised by Assistant Director Arthur Black, have been in the vicinity since Tuesday and hope to return to Hollywood early this week.

On the scene Saturday were Black, his assistant, two paymasters, two chauffeurs in Chrysler limosines, five cameramen, and three local union assistants to handle the equipment.

Rounding out the crew was a girl with a long cigarette holder who drove a third Chrysler up and down the drive in front of the pick-up truck. If the shots made yesterday appear in the shots made yesterday appear in the movie, they will be part of driving scene showing the principles rolling along Memorial Drive in the Chrysler.
