Ralph "Chief" Bender, standout tackle on the 1949 football team, will coach the Dunster eleven this fall, according to a list of House coaches released yesterday by Director of Intramurals Adolph Samborski.
Carl Bottenfield, fullback on last year's varsity, will coach Kirkland. Bottenfield has a year of eligibility left, but will be unable to play, due to several concussions suffered in last fall's play.
Other coaches listed are Law School students Paul Blawie, of the University of Virginia, who will coach defending champion Eliot, and Bob Raives, of Ohio State, Lowell mentor.
James P. Curtin, a Somerville school teacher, will coach Dudley. Donald C. Ambuhl of Wabash, will coach Leverett; E. Abbott Johnson, of Colorado, Winthrop; and E. J. Wanamaker, of Princeton, Adams. The latter three are at the Business School.
Two likely candidates for coaching positions did not appear on the list. Neither George Sella, triple threat Princeton tailback, nor Ferd Nadherny, ex-Yale fullback, will direct House teams, though both are Business School students.
