Fifteen of the 17 extracurricular organizations granted space in the new Student Activities Center at 52 Dunster Street have failed to show up.
Clubs which have been allocated space should contact the Dean's Office for keys and move in immediately, the Student Council Committee for Student Affairs said last night.
Only Yearbook Publications and the Liberal Union have moved into their new quarters so far. The remaining rooms are so much fresh paint and varnish.
Three organizations which the Council had recommended for space in the Activities Center were rejected by the Administration. Two were denied room because they already had adequate quarters. A third, the Catholic Club, was not admitted because giving it an office is the Center would go against the University's traditional policy of not sponsoring specific religious groups in any way.
The Council Committee for Student Affairs also announced yesterday that it hoped to form an Inter-Organizations Council to administer the Activities Councilor. Such a council would deal with the problems such as hiring a general secretary for all the groups in the building suplying telephones, and working out a system of parietal rules.
Provisionally, the Center will operate under the same parietal rules used is undergraduate dormitories.
