A diorama of Harvard in the 17th century has been added to the two from other eras already in place in Widener Library. This new model depicts the University as it looked in 1677. The others show the same site as it appeared in 1775 and 1936.
All models were the gift to the late Ernest G. Stillman '03, former Honorary Curator of the Japanese Collection in the Library. Like the others, this scene was constructed in the studice of Theodore B. Pitman '14. It was a year in the making. The background was painted by Henry H. Brooks '23 and research for the project conducted by Rupert B. Lillie '35.
