NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Coach Lloyd Jordan emphasized single-wing running plays yesterday on Soldiers Field as the varsity football squad ran through a drill against dummies in preparation for Saturday's game with Holy Cross.

Paul Crowley ran at left and with the first offensive team, replacing Dike Hyde she injured his ankle against Dartmouth. Jordan said after practice that Hyde, who was on crutches yesterday, would probably not play against the Crusaders, George Emmons is expected to take his place on defense.

Lemay Returns

Defensive guard Dick Heldtmann, the other major casually Saturday, has a 50-50 chance to play this week. He is expected to test his injured log tomorrow. an encouraging note was the return to action of Buddy Lemay, a defensive line backer, who spent last week in Stillman with a kidney injury.

Jordan gave the team a relatively light work out, spending most of the time concentrating on single wing blocking against Hummies. The first backfield had Bob Ray at tailback, Gil O'Nell at quarterback, Merry Blitz at right half, and John West at fullback.

In the second backfield were Carroll Lowenstein, tailback: Tom Ossman, fullback: Dave Wardon, wingback; and Philisenberg, quarterback. The practice session closed with a short passing drill, with Ray and Lowenstein throwing effectively to Crawley, Fred Ravreby, Biltz, and Warden.
