Wherein Ed Waitkus, a Local Product, Is Elected a Hero

Whereas:

The Philadelphia National League Baseball Team has emerged from the present baseball season as the National League baseball Champions, and

Whereas:

In this accomplishment Cambridge has something in common with this team over which to rejoice in that their first baseman Edward Waitkus is a native born product of Cambridge sand-lots.

Therefore Be it Resolved:

That the City Council of the City of Cambridge extends to the Philadelphia National League Baseball Team their congratulations on this achievement; Also their sincere congratulations to Edward Waltkus. Mayor Crane and   Councillor McNamara.   (passed unanimously)
