Eliot Leads This Year In House Membership; Lowell Drops to 430

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Eliot is now the largest House in the College. Its resident membership of 446 has taken the lead from Lowell. Which sliced its last year's total of 470 by 40.

After the two leading Houses, the registration drops sharply to the three hundreds, from Leverett with a low of 337 up to Winthrop with 380. Adams has 367, Kirkland, 350, and Dunster, 345.

Three Houses, Dunster, Kirkland, and Lowell were so flooded with applications that they could accept only men who applied to them as first choice. Eighty percent of Adams' sophomores are first choice applicants, while more that half of Leverett's incoming men made the Hutch their first preference. Eliot and Winthrop could not estimate what percentage of their entrants applied first choice.
