The Yardling barriers followed the sample of the varsity by edging a covered Green freshman team, 26 to 29, yesterday at Franklin Park. It was the team's initial win of the season, after losses the Rhode Island and Boston University.
Dartmouth's Walt Clarkson led the attack, finishing second, nine seconds behind. Yardling captain Emill San Soucie has in the third position. Hal Gerry, Bruce Phillips, and Leo Carroll rounded at the Crimson scorers, in sixth, seventh, and eighth places.
Ellie Noyes' Green harriers fielded a strong team that gave the Crimson a run for their money all the way. Harvard's other finishers were Marshall Fichman, Jack Richards, Al Joyce, Dick van Duyne, Thane MacInnes, Dick Engs, and Bob McConaghie.
