Copeland Named

Professor Melvin T. Copeland, director of Research at the Business School, has been promoted to the George F. Banker Professorship, Dean David announced last night.

The chair has been vacant since the retirement in 1948 of former Dean Wallace B. Donham '98.

Copeland joined the faculty in 1909 and became a professor in 1919. While at the University, he has also held a number of government positions in Washington. Copeland has directed Business School research since 1942.
