Elephants Top Dunster, 19-0; Bellboys Blank Leverett, 6-0

Dunster's football team held a favored Eliot team for most of yesterday's game, but the Funster defense weakened three times to give last year's champions a 19 to 0 victory, Meanwhile, Lowell edged out Leverett, 6-0, in a close contest.

The Elephants scored early in the first quarter when Dunster, held on ts own 20, was forced to kick John MacNamara, former jayee back, took the punt on hs own 40, and, behind alert blocking, ran all the way to score. The kick was good.

In the third quarter Eliot tallied twice. Riley Gilbert, aided by a mass of blockers, broke around end to score from the Dunster 40. Later, Charlie Cabot threw a 30 yard pass to Myles Herter in the end zone. In the last period, Eliot got a first down on the Funster four yard line, but the Dunster line, upheld by Ed Cohen, "Deke" do Coon and Greg Collegan, stopped the threat on the one.

Lowell-Leverett

In the Lowell-Leverett contest, both teams were continually punting out of their own territories and intercepting each other's passes in the first quarter.

Early in the second period, the Bellboys' scoring threat started off with halfback Ted Briggs' line buck to the Bunnies' eight-yard line for a first down. Then Bob Lown took the ball around end for a touchdown. Lowell failed to got the extra point.

In the third period, Leverett end Julius Garelick recovered a Bunny punt when Lowell fumbled on the 35 yard line. But Lowell got the ball back two plays later when Ed Thayer pounced on a fumble.

The Bunnies threatened to score in the latter part of the third quarter when tailback Sam Paschal carried through the line to the seven-yard line. After a five yard penalty for back in motion, Paschal ran to the six, where Lowell's 215-pound lineman Dave Brisk stopped the bid.

In the fourth quarter, Leverett came within a yard of a touchdown but the Bellboys saved their lead by throwing Leverett for a seven yard loss and intercepting a pass on the next two plays.

Tomorrow Dunster meets Dudley and Winthrop takes of Lowell on the House fields.
