Carl Sandburg Reads Today At First of Poetry Series

Carl Sandburg reads from his own poetry at 4:30 p.m. this afternoon in the New Lecture Hall. Often referred to as "Poet Laureate of Industrial America," Sandburg is expected to read "Chicago," "Smoke and Steel," and some of his newer poems.

This is the first poetry reading of the year given under the auspices of the Morris Gray Poetry Fund. Other readings by noted poets will be scheduled and announced periodically.
